Art-ness.

I met up with one of the women at the nursing home today (I think she's one of the head's of the entire facility) and she took pictures of me with the mural! I hated the pictures (not the best picture taker IMO), but apparently this is going in the newsletter between the nursing homes (from this one to the others), so I'm all excited anyway. Wooooooooooooooot! Now if only I could lose a billion pounds, wear a bikini, and get a really hawt sun tan! :D

No word yet on the newspaper itself, but this is good in itself!! The first thing customers are showed when they want to put their loved ones in the nursing home is the mural (they say it makes the place look less like an institution and more like a home), and lots of people see it every day. Yayzors!

Will continue working on pictures to upload. Hopefully, I'll have a post ready soon!

I also got also got watercolor pencils recently, and I"m working on mastering them! They are SO COOL. Dude, you color with the pencil and then you paint with water! OMG AWESOMECAKES! I'm hoping to draw something really, really kewl with them. Hee!

Also, while I'm on the subject of art... do you think it's worth going to Adam's State for an art major? I want to use the murals to get in (as well as some scholarships, hopefully, because I do not want to pay loans forever and ever and ever), but some people are saying that I don't need to. I think I do--I have room for improvement, and going to school would be great. A CNA at the nursing home went for his master of apprenticeship in woodmaking, and he said the art program there is AWESOME.

So, yesh, thinking about that.

*dashes off to get ready for workies*

You're a talented artist and anything that can raise your skills to be even more awesome gets brownie points in my book. I say look more into the program, look at opportunities for scholarship and funding, see where it goes. If something feels right and you're stoked to do it, go for it. ^__~!
Yayzors! I'll make the call, dudums, thanks for the advice. I think it's because my dad keeps telling me degrees aren't what they used to be, and most people I know in mid-life never use their degrees from college anyway. But having one--even if it's not what you end up doing--helps majorly.

So yesh, I'm gonna call and ask about scholarships and such! At the very least, it'll get me places. ^^

You can do 1 of those today, 2 of those in the next few days. The third may take awhile.

I can't tell you if going for a degree would help or not. You'll probably get/have to learn about art history as part of the program, and they can probably teach you techniques or better ways of doing some things. I'd say it can't hurt, but I have no knowledge in this field at all. ^^;

Good luck with everything!

Hee! Don't ever change, Princess! *loves you* Speaking of, though, when I went to the doctor, the nurse was all, "OMG A NICE YOUNG LADY LIKE YOU SHOULDN'T BE THIS HEAVY," and my, "WELL, MY FAMILY LIKES TO EAT" didn't go over well, So, considering we're gonna meet up in September, I'm going on a diet. I keep telling myself that if I diet and exercise now until Labor Day, I'll con you into thinking I'm super awesome and not the food-loving slob I actually am. It's a thought, anyway. xD

I think I'm gonna go for it! I'm going to email Adam's state and tell them my situation and ask how they can help. I just don't want to get in there and pay loans forever and ever, is all.
I know, I know, I've been shamefull quiet over here. YEESH

I used to use water color pencils when I was still rubber stamping and they were just beyond cool. :-D
LOL! We both lurk, it's cool! Lurkers are awesome in their own quiet way! ^^

Yay for stamping!! I didn't think of that, but it's a great idea! I gotta get some stamps now!! :D
It was so fun! You would stamp and emboss it, then color it with the water color pencils, then do the water effects. WAY cool for birds, floral things, etc. :-D
